A Note From Debra
What does that mean, and why does it matter for how you lead, decide, and grow?
The unconscious mind drives 96–98% of our decision-making. And here is the striking truth: that mind is almost always anchored in the past, shaped by blame and disappointment, or projecting into the future through anxiety and control. This is not a personal flaw. It is how every human brain is wired.
Part of your brain, the amygdala, exists purely to protect you. It drives you toward small, defensive thinking. When that part of your brain is running the show, you cannot access your best decisions.
And your decisions create your results.
You are more than this. And your business deserves more than this.
Breaking Free from the Autopilot Mind
The path forward is not about working harder or thinking faster. It is about breaking free from the natural, automatic pull of your brain, and learning to lead from a place of genuine presence.
Being fully present means observing what you actually have right now. The basics: food, shelter, clothing, love, and breath. Are you lacking any of these?
Most likely, not.
The past mind is gone. The future mind is an illusion, a story your brain tells to manage fear of the unknown. But here is what is true: you cannot be afraid of something that is not even here.
When you run on autopilot, unaware of whether your thoughts are rooted in past wounds or future worry, you are automatically invisibly limiting the results you want.
What Truly Thriving CEOs Do Differently
CEOs who build businesses that are sustainable, fulfilling, and filled with genuine peace and joy. They have learned to use their most powerful asset with intention.
They look at outcomes that are not working and trace them back: What was the thinking? What were the feelings? What behavior followed, and what decision did it lead to?
Because if you cannot catch the pattern your brain runs to keep you exactly where you are, you will keep striving without ever arriving at the life and business you truly desire.
Reframing Failure
The ego is afraid of failing. And so it creates a convincing story, one that simply is not true.
Failure is just feedback. It is your thought patterns alerting you that a shift is needed so you can create new outcomes. That is all it is. When you learn to see it that way, everything changes, your business, your relationships, your life.
Invisible Wins Create Visible Wins
To change the outside, we must first change the inside. That is the foundation of everything I do with CEOs and founders. The internal work, the identity shifts, the unconscious pattern work, the presence practice, that is where lasting change lives.
When you do less of what is not working and more of what actually moves the needle within yourself, the external results follow. Quickly.
You deserve to invest in yourself.
With love,
Debra
